About Me
Hey, I’m Ryan Fogg a multimedia creator originally from Palm Springs, now based in Los Angeles County.
I’ve been drawn to creating for as long as I can remember. Back in sixth grade, I started editing videos on whatever phone apps I could get my hands on. It wasn’t anything fancy — mostly edits of TV shows and my favorite YouTubers but it quickly became more than just a hobby. It was my way of expressing myself. Platforms like Vine gave me a place to share those early creations, and from there, I was hooked.
Toward the end of high school, especially during the pandemic, I decided to take things more seriously. I taught myself how to use Premiere Pro and After Effects, pushing myself beyond mobile editing and into a more professional space. Around that same time, I enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona as a Liberal Studies major, knowing I wanted to pivot — I just wasn’t sure yet how to turn my passion for video into a clear path.
That direction started to come into focus in 2022 when a friend gave me my first camera after I joined my fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. I stepped up to help run the fraternity’s social media, and that opportunity turned into something much bigger. I served as Vice President of Communication for two years, leading content creation and storytelling for the chapter. In 2023, I was honored with the Benjamin Hobson-Frayser Award for Excellence in Communication.
By my second year, I realized that Communication was the major that aligned with what I wanted to do long-term. I transitioned into the program and began working as a videographer for Cal Poly Pomona’s ASI Marketing department, where I met people who helped guide and support that shift.
During my third year, I expanded into storytelling in a different way — joining the Poly Post as a staff writer. I covered everything from news and sports to arts, culture, and opinion, while also producing video content like packages and social media reels. That experience pushed me to think not just visually, but narratively — how to tell stories that actually connect with people.
Now, in my final year at Cal Poly Pomona (graduating May 2026), I’m serving as the Video Editor for the Poly Post and working as a video production and photography intern at the Lyle Center. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to cover a wide range of events and stories from sports and news to campus culture and Greek life — each one helping me grow as a creator.
Looking ahead, my goal is to become a sports videographer and video editor for a major team. I want to travel, work closely with athletes, and capture the moments that make sports so powerful — the energy, the emotion, and the stories behind it all.
